How Quick Scan Works

Quick Scan focuses on the most common sources of junk files:

System Caches

  • Browser caches (Safari, Chrome, Firefox)
  • Application caches
  • System temporary files
  • Font caches

Log Files

  • System logs
  • Application logs
  • Crash reports
  • Diagnostic data

Temporary Files

  • Download history
  • Recent items lists
  • Incomplete downloads
  • Installation leftovers

3. Wait for the scan to complete (usually 10-30 seconds)

4. Review the results

5. Click Clean to remove the junk

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Assign your preferred shortcut
  • Trigger Quick Scan from anywhere

What Makes Quick Scan Safe?

Conservative Approach

Quick Scan only targets files that are:

  • Generally safe to delete - Common junk files like caches and logs
  • Regenerated automatically - Apps typically recreate them when needed
  • Not in active use - Currently unused by any application

Files Quick Scan NEVER Touches

  • Your documents and files
  • Application data you need
  • System files required for macOS
  • Anything in your user folders (unless it's cache)
